Day 2 - KL

Well a yummy breakfast to start the day off - could eat all morning - yum!

Walked to Petronas Towers which were only 10 minutes away and we can see them from bedroom window.

Big shopping mall but a lot like dozens of others around the world - but just a little bigger than the plaza!!!
Tower walkway is closed on Mondays so will have to do that when we return next time in July. Was very warm – about 34 degrees later in the day according to one of our drivers.

Came homeabout noon and relaxed for an hour. Went down to foyer to wait for driver. Got taken to KL Art Centre – had a look around then went with two other couple on suburban tour. Was very good. Showed huge contrast in standards around city from very flash to very poor living conditions. Lot of government cheap accommodation build as well as now some very nice apartments. Cheap ones are about 25,000 NZ$ and new ones are around $200,000NZ.

Went to Batik shop (crummy) to Petwer shop – glad I’m not a worker there. Took a photo by the worlds largest pewter mug.

Then went to Batu Caves – walked up stairs (200+) a Buddhist centre in the caves for praying.

There were monkeys around – as well as snakes up the top. Was very hot I was sweating and looked terrible with all my shirt all wet through!

Came home (was out about 4 hours). Was well worthwhile trip and probably more interesting than the city tour I suspect – certainly saw the variety.
Back in air conditioned room and cooling off. Now what about tea???? Hum. Got to be up early in morning for Malacca trip.
