Day 4 - KL

Well a lazy wake up – well except for Shona who went to bed really early last night and then was ready to get up and party about 7.30!!!! Anyway up and had a final hotel breakfast (wonder if Ian can match it in London!!!) – only gotta provide cooked, cereals, pastries, fruit, omelets Japanese, Chinese, Danish as well as the normal stuff. Do like those waffles and maple syrup - so much for the diet!!!

Walked to convention centre which is only abouty 3 minutes away and found an underground walkway (out of the heat) to the Petronas Towers – pity we didn’t know that 2 days ago! Find the aquarium didn’t open unti 11 am so went to the park (in the heat of course) and found a huge adventure playground – all this equipment and no children playing on it!!

Went to find out about a science centre in the towers but close don Mondays – so will come back another day. Went eventually back to the Aquarium – not cheap to get in – 45 ringits each – would have been less if I had lied when she asked me my age – was half the price if over 60!!!! Anyway a big area – including a large underwater tunnel (like Aucklands) and a great range of fish of all sorts. Watched them feeding them and had the amusement of the guide trying to tell everyone to not use flash cameras and to sit down so people at back could see and some refused to take any notice – although to be fair they probably didn’t speak English!
Walked to the Pavillion shopping centre – about 5-10 minutes walk – really close (looked further on the map) – but extremely flash shops (6 stories) the only cheap thing was food in the food court – so we spent some money there.
Anyway no spare room for goodies at this stage.
Back to hotel – to relax- managed 30 minutes in the gym then a swim outside on the fourth floor watching the city go past. Now typing this – an early night since up at 5.30 in the morning for the next chapter in the trip to London. We will leave the 35+ degrees behind and handle the shivery of England!
Catch you from a new continent in the next few days!
